     Regular checks on the hives are important to monitor the bees' progress. You can identify problems early and fix them. It's important for beekeepers to check your beehive, whether it's a hive or those that have hives. Different hives have their own unique inspection and maintenance schedules. Some hives may easily go without inspection for long periods of time, while others may require weekly inspection. 

     Beehives usually require more frequent inspections in the first year. In the second year, the hive will require far fewer inspections. However, it is generally recommended to check the hives at least once every two weeks. This article will explain in detail how to conduct a beehive inspection and hopefully you will find it helpful.

1. Beekeepers should at least wear a veil when inspecting their hives, and of course it's up to you how much ppe (veil, gloves, boots, suit) you choose to wear
2. Begin your hive inspection process by removing the outer cover of your hive and exposing it to the ground.
3. Next, if possible, remove the empty hives and place them on the outer covering.
4. Use your scraper, then pry open the inner cover and lift it a few inches. This tool is an essential beekeeping device.
5. When properly lit, a bee smoker produces a lot of smoke. Beekeepers pacify their bees with bongs. The smoke calms the bees by masking the alarm pheromones they produce as they defend themselves.
6. After blowing some smoke into the beehive, gently pry apart honey supers and remove them one at a time. You may stack your honey supers on the outer cover. While removing the honey supers, puff smoke between them.
7. When you reach the queen excluder, remove it and place it face up on top of the honey superbox you removed. You can then proceed to remove the incubators and place them on the Queen excluder.
8. A look inside the hive begins in the chamber at the bottom. Use the honeycomb tool to push the frame to the side of the deep box.
9. If the frames are stuck together, use a honeycomb tool to pry them open. Start checking frame by frame. Use their top horns to place them on the hive's body while checking the frame.
10. Every time you visit a hive, you're looking for signs that the queen is alive and laying healthy eggs. You should also look out for pollen quality and quantity, signs of disease, and unsealed and sealed nests.
11. After each hive is inspected, it is reassembled and stacked. Smoke the bottom of each honeycomb body and then place it in your honeycomb. Replace the outer cover after reinstalling all beehive bodies and covers. You can then press down on the outer covering with a heavy object, such as a brick, or any other object of your choice.
